Assortment
Which products bring results, and which only occupy shelves and freeze funds?
Assortment directly affects sales, margin, availability, and inventory levels. If it is formed incorrectly, popular products are unavailable, while funds remain invested in low-demand SKUs.
The Assortment module helps form the correct list of products for each store, taking into account local demand, available shelf space, SKU performance, and the company’s business objectives.
User can use the module:
configure assortment for various store formats;
assess current results;
define target KPIs;
obtain SKU recommendations;
verify the expected business effect;
implement the selected changes..
Module Running
Work begins with Formats, which define the basic assortment rules for categories and stores.
The following user runs the basic analytical process:
Dashboards → Goals → Insights → Implementation
Dashboards shows the current situation, Goals defines the result you want, Insights offers specific changes, and Implementation helps you check and apply them.
Key principle: not the same assortment for the entire retail network, but the correct selection for each store.
Correct product. In the right store. With a result that can be estimated in advance.
Formats
The same assortment cannot be equally effective in a hypermarket, a supermarket and a convenience store. They have different areas, different demand and different needs of buyers.
The "Formats" section helps to customise the assortment for each type of store, without managing hundreds of outlets separately.
Here you can:
create rules for store categories and formats;
control the number of SKUs and display;
add local inclusions and exclusions;
view forecasted KPIs;
receive recommendations on improving the assortment.
Common rules simplify retail-chain management, and local settings help not to lose the specifics of a particular store.
Category Formats
Category format defines how a certain category should be represented in different types of stores.
For example, the category "Champagne" may contain:
a wide premium selection in a large supermarket;
the main popular items in the convenience store;
a compact assortment of bestsellers in an express store.
On the tab you can:
create and edit category formats;
assign them store formats;
determine the number of SKUs;
adjust layout and capacity;
check forecast results;
analyse system recommendations.
Select a category in the tree or search for it by name - the system will show all related formats.
Records can be viewed by status:
All / Future - all available and planned settings;
Actual - current configuration;
Maximum - set limit values;
Over the maximum - formats in which the limit is exceeded.
So you can go from the entire retail chain to a specific category, store or product in a few seconds.
Forecast Metrics
The table shows not only the structure of the assortment, but also how it can affect the result.
For each format, you can evaluate:
number of stores and SKUs;
current and maximum display;
available shelf space;
ROI;
receipts;
stocks and write-offs;
sales and margin forecast;
average historical sales.
